Since this is a Web design blog I have to school everyone on something. Many people out there do not understand or even know that web development and web design are two completely different skill sets. To the lay-person a webmaster is the person that will design and build out their website(s). But in reality not all webmasters, or web developers, are good at design. In fact good designers are hardly ever great developers.

A good web developer will understand site architecture, SEO ranking factors, and some light programming. They will know how to access hosting, use cpanel, etc. They will know how to create valid CSS and XHTML. Good developers will know how to work with databases too.

But a good designer will have a mastery of Web design software like photoshop, fireworks, etc. A good designer will that certain elements need to be in a homepage, like a call to action. Designers will understand what types of colors go together and what types of moods they can elicit. A great designer will know how to design a site so that it not only looks good but will be search engine friendly as well.

Now I am not saying that there are not any competent designers and developers out there because there are. But they are few and far between. What I am saying is that in general designers and developers should be two different people. In web companies, or agencies, there is someone that creates designs and someone else that builds it out. So next time you set out to build a site please try to understand that if you want quality work done then you are most likely going to need to hire someone (or an agency) to create your design and another person to build it out to spec.

The coaches must ensure that youth soccer drills get their undivided attention considering it’s importance. Only when you are confident of the practicality and purposeful application of the technique, use it. There are certain guidelines given below that will be effective in communicating with the players.

Your instructions to kids should be precise. It’s a bad idea to impart too many instructions in a single session. This leaves the kids confused and does not help in their growth. It’s natural for the kids to get frustrated because they don’t understand the instructions well and fail in accomplishing them. It’s therefore failure on your part as a coach.

Design a strategy instead. Add specific instructions that are less in number. These orders should not only be simple to understand but easy to perform as well. With soccer drills for kids, it is easy to conduct individual sessions also. The kids therefore have the advantage of learning the basics of the game easily. Also, it instills in them a sense that they are an important part of the team.

However, you must not forget that soccer being a team activity, your practice sessions must be a perfect blend of group and individual activities.

Do not keep the training sessions very long in kids soccer drills. If it is otherwise, it is probable that the interest of the kids is lost and they are also tired. Short and simple is the key here. Preferably, keep the duration within 2 hours. Between this period, make the kids do a lot of drills and activities that they find enjoyable.

When educating about soccer drills for youth, take the kids from simple to advanced concepts slowly. You will learn that all the kids pick up skills at different degrees. Some learn aggressively while others do it slowly. There is no problem with it. If you think that such a situation requires different groups to make training effective, feel free to do so. What is not right is to either rush through the sessions or penalize the slow learners.

Understand that kids play soccer for the love of it. It is crucial that you make them learn while enjoying the game.

To conclude, soccer drills should focus on controlling the ball, passing, receiving, dribbling, shooting and so on. Even though it is nice to include a lot of non-soccer games in the sessions, understand that the focus should always be soccer.
